Last War Survival Season 1 Crimson Plague guide

Season 1, The Crimson Plague, is the first major seasonal expansion in Last War Survival. It introduces Virus Resistance, infected enemies, seasonal resources, new buildings, professions, alliance territory expansion, City warfare, Hero’s Return, UR promotion, and Exclusive Weapons.

Normal account Power remains important, but it is no longer enough by itself. A strong squad can struggle against infected targets when its Virus Resistance is below the recommended level. Alliances must also capture connected Military Strongholds before they can reach important Cities and compete for seasonal Influence.

This Last War Survival Season 1 Crimson Plague guide explains the timeline, resources, Virus Resistance, infection system, seasonal buildings, professions, territory rules, hero upgrades, rewards, and the best priorities for free-to-play and paying players.

Season 1 Crimson Plague Quick Answer

The most important Season 1 priorities are:

  1. Join an active alliance: Strongholds, Cities, treatments, Gene Fragment exchanges, and end-of-season rewards depend heavily on alliance activity.
  2. Upgrade the Virus Research Institute: Virus Resistance controls which infected enemies and seasonal objectives you can fight effectively.
  3. Upgrade Protein Farms: They produce Immune Protein for Virus Research Institute progression.
  4. Complete Season Quests and Goals: These provide Mutant Crystals and other seasonal resources.
  5. Follow alliance territory plans: Random Stronghold captures can block access to higher-value Cities.
  6. Develop one main squad: Do not spread Hero Shards, Skill Medals, gear, and Exclusive Weapon materials across too many heroes.
  7. Watch your Infection Stacks: Higher stacks activate increasingly severe debuffs.

Season 1 is largely about horizontal progression. Instead of only rushing another Headquarters level, players improve Virus Resistance, troop tier, research, gear, hero stars, professions, and Exclusive Weapons.

What Is Season 1: The Crimson Plague?

Last War Survival Season 1 Crimson Plague overview

The Crimson Plague transforms the normal world map into an infected seasonal battlefield. Alliances begin near the edge of their warzone without their previous City territory and must create a connected path through Military Strongholds.

Season 1 introduces the following major systems:

Season 1 Feature Main Function
Virus Resistance Reduces penalties when fighting infected enemies and participating in seasonal objectives
Immune Protein Upgrades the Virus Research Institute and Military Bases
Mutant Crystal Upgrades Protein Farms and Military Bases
Gene Fragments Used in Genetic Recombination to obtain Mutant Crystals and other rewards
Seasonal Buildings Increase Virus Resistance, resource production, and vehicle-type statistics
Professions Unlock Engineer or War Leader skills for development or combat
Military Strongholds Create connected alliance territory and routes toward Cities
Cities Provide Influence, buffs, rewards, and strategic map control
Hero’s Return Provides another route to obtain selected UR hero shards
Exclusive Weapons Add new skills and milestone bonuses to selected 5-star UR heroes
Mason UR Promotion Allows eligible players to promote Mason from SSR to UR

The season rewards accounts that remain active, but alliance organization is equally important. A powerful player in an inactive alliance may receive fewer territory and season rewards than a moderately developed player in a coordinated group.

Season 1 Timeline and Duration

Season 1 is divided into three main stages:

Stage Typical Duration Main Purpose
Pre-Season 2 weeks Preview grouping, rules, rewards, Season Boosts, and upcoming mechanics
Main Season 8 weeks Virus progression, professions, territory expansion, City wars, and seasonal rewards
Celebration or Settlement Varies by schedule Final rewards, season review, and preparation for the next progression stage

Your warzone’s exact starting time may not align perfectly with the normal daily reset. Use the countdown in the Season interface as the final reference.

Season 1 City Unlock Schedule

Cities open gradually during the first four weeks. Alliances should plan their Stronghold path before the desired City level becomes available.

Season Day City Level Available for Declaration
Day 4 Level 1 Cities
Day 7 Level 2 Cities
Day 11 Level 3 Cities
Day 14 Level 4 Cities
Day 18 Level 5 Cities
Day 21 Level 6 Cities
Day 28 City of Apocalypse, the seasonal Capitol

The alliance that controlled the Capitol before Season 1 generally retains the presidency and government-title functions until the City of Apocalypse becomes available for seasonal capture.

Use the Last War Presidential Titles guide to understand the construction, research, training, healing, and combat bonuses that remain relevant during the season.

What to Do During Pre-Season

The two-week Pre-Season is mainly a preparation and preview period. The full virus economy and territory systems have not yet started, but important information becomes available.

During Pre-Season:

  • Check which warzones are included in your seasonal group.
  • Review the Season 1 rules and reward previews.
  • Confirm whether your current alliance is active enough for territory warfare.
  • Save stamina for early infected zombie and Doom Elite farming.
  • Save generic speedups for seasonal buildings, research, troop training, and events.
  • Improve your primary squad instead of spreading resources across several weak teams.
  • Prepare teleports for hive movement and territory operations.
  • Review the City map and discuss target routes with alliance leadership.
  • Participate in the Pre-Season Capitol Conquest when it appears.

Choose the Right Alliance Before Season 1

Changing alliances after territory expansion begins can leave you separated from important objectives or reduce your access to coordinated rewards.

A suitable Season 1 alliance should have:

  • Active R4 and R5 leadership.
  • Clear Stronghold and City plans.
  • Reliable rally leaders.
  • Regular treatment support for infected members.
  • Cross-server diplomacy and war instructions.
  • Members active across multiple time zones.
  • Clear rules for distributing City and Stronghold reward chests.

Coordinate hive movement carefully. The Advanced Teleporter guide explains how to relocate without wasting premium teleport items.

Prepare Your Main Squad

Virus Resistance does not replace normal combat development. You still need enough troop tier, March Size, HP, Attack, Defense, gear, and hero development to defeat infected enemies and participate in City sieges.

Review the Last War troop stats guide to understand why displayed Power alone does not determine battle results.

If your account is approaching advanced troop progression, the Unit X guide can help you prepare the research and resources needed for T10 troops.

Season 1 Resources Explained

Season 1 introduces Immune Protein, Mutant Crystals, and six types of Gene Fragments. Each resource serves a different purpose.

Resource Main Uses
Immune Protein Virus Research Institute, Military Bases, and ally treatments
Mutant Crystal Protein Farms and Military Bases
Gene Fragments Genetic Recombination and seasonal exchanges

Immune Protein

Last War Survival Season 1 Immune Protein

Immune Protein is the main resource used to upgrade the Virus Research Institute. It is also required for seasonal Military Bases and is consumed when treating infected allies.

Common Immune Protein sources include:

  • Protein Farm production.
  • First-time infected zombie level rewards.
  • Virus Resistance goals.
  • Hero’s Return recruitment rewards.
  • Season quests, milestones, passes, and related events.

Early in the season, the Virus Research Institute should normally receive priority. Spending too much Immune Protein on Military Bases before meeting important resistance requirements can block infected enemy and Stronghold progression.

Mutant Crystal

Last War Survival Season 1 Mutant Crystal

Mutant Crystals are used to upgrade Protein Farms and the three Military Bases.

Common Mutant Crystal sources include:

  • First-time zombie level rewards.
  • Season Quests.
  • Virus Resistance goals.
  • The first Doom Walker kill reward of the day.
  • Genetic Recombination.
  • Hero’s Return recruitment.
  • Season Battle Pass and Weekly Pass rewards.
  • Temporary alliance resource farms.

Protein Farm upgrades are usually the best early use because they increase recurring Immune Protein income. A larger daily income supports more Virus Research Institute upgrades over the full season.

Gene Fragments

Last War Survival Season 1 Gene Fragment type 1 Last War Survival Season 1 Gene Fragment type 2 Last War Survival Season 1 Gene Fragment type 3 Last War Survival Season 1 Gene Fragment type 4 Last War Survival Season 1 Gene Fragment type 5 Last War Survival Season 1 Gene Fragment type 6

There are six Gene Fragment types. Complete sets are used through Genetic Recombination to obtain Mutant Crystals and other seasonal rewards.

Fragment types I, II, and III can commonly come from:

  • Radar missions involving Doom Elites, gathering, or Doom Walkers.
  • Crimson Zombies.
  • Infected Zombies.
  • Doom Elites.

Fragment types IV, V, and VI can commonly come from treating infected allies. City attacks and other seasonal activities may also provide fragments.

Exchange Gene Fragments With Alliance Members

Fragment drops are not always balanced. One player may have several copies of type I while missing type V.

Use alliance exchanges to:

  • Complete more six-fragment sets.
  • Help teammates obtain missing types.
  • Avoid holding excessive duplicate fragments.
  • Generate more Genetic Recombination rewards.

Do not wait until the final days of the season to begin exchanging. Active daily exchange creates more Mutant Crystals while they can still improve Protein Farms and Military Bases.

Virus Resistance Explained

Last War Survival Season 1 Virus Resistance

Virus Resistance is the main seasonal progression gate. Infected enemies and map objectives display a recommended or required virus value.

When your resistance is high enough, you can fight with fewer seasonal penalties. When it is too low, you may deal less damage and return to your base carrying Infection Stacks.

Resistance Situation Likely Result
Resistance meets or exceeds the requirement The squad can fight more effectively and usually avoids resistance-based infection
Resistance is below the requirement The squad may deal reduced damage and return with Infection Stacks
Enemy applies unconditional infection The squad can gain Infection Stacks regardless of resistance
Infection Stacks become high Additional base, troop, and combat debuffs activate

How to Increase Virus Resistance

The main permanent seasonal source is the Virus Research Institute. Upgrade it with Immune Protein.

Other temporary or event-based sources may include:

  • Weekly Pass bonuses.
  • Profession skills.
  • Season Boost effects.
  • Temporary items or event buffs.

Temporary resistance is useful for reaching a target sooner, but it expires. Base your long-term plan on permanent Virus Research Institute progression.

Check Resistance Before Every New Enemy Level

Before attacking an infected target:

  1. Open the enemy information panel.
  2. Check the displayed virus level or resistance requirement.
  3. Compare it with your current Virus Resistance.
  4. Review any unconditional infection warning.
  5. Confirm that your squad has enough normal combat strength.

Do not rely only on the green or red Power comparison. Virus penalties can make a normally easy enemy much harder.

Infection Stacks and Debuffs

Last War Survival Season 1 Infection Stacks and debuffs

When infected troops return to your base, your Infection Stack can increase. The value ranges from 0 to 100.

Specific debuffs activate at 1, 20, 40, 60, and 80 stacks. The severity of active effects increases as the stack rises.

Stack Threshold Debuff Effect
1+ Hospital Stay One unit becomes seriously injured periodically, with the interval becoming shorter at higher stacks
20+ Low Morale Damage dealt is reduced
40+ Fatal Virus Enemy casualty-related penalties become more severe
60+ Severe Infection Marching troops carry more infection
80+ Virus Plague Your troops gain a chance to infect an enemy even when defeated

The exact displayed percentage or timer changes with the total stack. Open the infection icon above the Radar interface to see the current values affecting your base.

How Infection Stacks Increase

You may gain or spread infection by:

  • Attacking a zombie above your current Virus Resistance.
  • Attacking Corruptors.
  • Attacking Infected Zombies.
  • Fighting selected World Bosses.
  • Receiving attacks from troops carrying infection.
  • Participating in objectives with unconditional infection mechanics.

Some targets infect troops regardless of resistance. Read the warning icon before joining auto-rallies or attacking a new enemy type.

How to Remove Infection

Infection reduces gradually over time, but natural recovery can be slow at high stacks.

Alliance members can treat an infected base:

  1. The infected player shares base coordinates in alliance chat.
  2. An ally opens the infected base.
  3. The ally selects the treatment icon.
  4. The treatment consumes Immune Protein.
  5. Each treatment lowers the Infection Stack.

Lowering the stack below a threshold removes the corresponding debuff. Treatments can also reward the assisting player with Gene Fragments.

Protect Your Hospital Capacity

The Hospital Stay debuff can create seriously injured troops over time. Ensure that your recovery buildings have enough capacity before deliberately fighting above your resistance.

Use the Hospital guide and Emergency Center guide to reduce the risk of permanent troop losses during seasonal wars.

New Buildings in Season 1

Season 1 buildings are placed outside the normal base perimeter. Their maximum level is separate from normal Headquarters limits.

Seasonal Building Main Function Primary Upgrade Resource
Virus Research Institute Increases Virus Resistance Immune Protein
Protein Farm Produces Immune Protein Mutant Crystal
Tank Military Base Improves Tank hero HP, Attack, and Defense Immune Protein and Mutant Crystal
Aircraft Military Base Improves Aircraft hero HP, Attack, and Defense Immune Protein and Mutant Crystal
Missile Military Base Improves Missile hero HP, Attack, and Defense Immune Protein and Mutant Crystal

Virus Research Institute

Last War Survival Season 1 Virus Research Institute Upgrading Virus Research Institute in Last War Survival Season 1

The Virus Research Institute is the most important early seasonal building. It can be upgraded to level 30 and increases Virus Resistance.

Prioritize it when:

  • You cannot attack the next infected zombie level efficiently.
  • Your alliance is preparing for a higher-level Stronghold or City.
  • Your squads return with excessive Infection Stacks.
  • You are dealing severe resistance-based damage penalties.

Do not wait until the moment of a City declaration to begin increasing resistance. Seasonal building timers and Protein production can make last-minute progress difficult.

Protein Farms

Last War Survival Season 1 Protein Farm Upgrading a Protein Farm in Last War Survival Season 1

Protein Farms generate Immune Protein and can be upgraded with Mutant Crystals.

Documented unlock progression includes:

  • The first Protein Farm is available early in the season.
  • A second becomes available when the first reaches level 5.
  • Additional free farms unlock as the previous farm reaches level 10.
  • Up to four regular Protein Farms can be developed.
  • A fifth temporary farm is available while the Weekly Pass is active.

Upgrade farms early enough for their increased production to operate during the remaining weeks. A late farm upgrade has less time to recover its Mutant Crystal cost.

Military Bases

Last War Survival Season 1 Tank Military Base Last War Survival Season 1 Missile Military Base Last War Survival Season 1 Aircraft Military Base

The three Military Bases become available later in the season. Each one supports a specific vehicle type and can be upgraded to level 30.

Each documented building level adds approximately 1% HP, Attack, and Defense to the corresponding hero type. Check the current building description before investing because values can be adjusted.

Prioritize the base connected to your primary formation:

  • Tank squad: Develop the Tank Military Base and continue normal Tank Center progression.
  • Aircraft squad: Develop the Aircraft Military Base and Aircraft Center.
  • Missile squad: Develop the Missile Military Base and Missile Center.

Do not divide Immune Protein and Mutant Crystals equally across all three unless you already maintain several competitive formations. Strengthening one complete squad generally provides more immediate value.

Engineer or War Leader Profession?

Season 1 introduces the Engineer and War Leader professions. Both use Profession EXP and Skill Points, but they support different account priorities.

Profession General Focus Usually Better For
Engineer Construction, research, resources, stamina, assistance, and development efficiency Free-to-play players, low spenders, developing accounts, and early seasonal growth
War Leader Training, combat, rallies, healing, warfare, and military efficiency Rally leaders, active PvP players, and developed combat accounts

Many accounts begin as Engineer because early economic and development bonuses compound across the season. A player may later switch toward War Leader when City wars and cross-server conflict become more important.

Profession selection should consider:

  • Your Headquarters and troop progression.
  • Whether you lead rallies.
  • Your alliance role.
  • Your available reset or profession-change items.
  • How often you participate in PvP.
  • Whether development or combat is currently the main bottleneck.

Do not copy a high-spender’s War Leader build when your account still needs construction, research, and resource support. The best profession depends on the work your account performs.

Season 1 Map and Alliance Territory

Last War Survival Season 1 Crimson Plague map

The seasonal map is larger and contains infected villages, Military Strongholds, Cities, the City of Apocalypse, Corruptors, infected zombies, and cross-server access points.

At the beginning of the season:

  • Alliance hives are moved toward the edge of the warzone.
  • Alliances begin without normal City ownership.
  • The first territory must come from a level 1 Military Stronghold.
  • Further objectives must connect to existing territory.
  • Cities become available according to the seasonal unlock schedule.

Territory connectivity matters more than geographic distance alone. A nearby City cannot be declared if your alliance does not control an adjacent connected Stronghold.

Military Strongholds Explained

Last War Survival Season 1 Military Stronghold

Military Strongholds create alliance territory and connect the route toward Cities.

Stronghold Rule Current Documented Detail
First capture The alliance must begin with a level 1 Stronghold in its own warzone
Daily capture limit Up to 2 Strongholds per day across applicable warzones
Connectivity Additional Strongholds must connect to an owned Stronghold or supported territory route
Initial ownership limit 3 Strongholds before City bonuses increase the limit
Level 1 to 5 City bonus Each owned City increases the Stronghold limit by 1
Level 6 City bonus Each owned level 6 City increases the Stronghold limit by 2
Protection after capture 36 hours
Abandonment time Approximately 1 hour

Before the first capture, Crimson Legion enemies such as Corruptors and Infected Zombies defend the objective. Rally participants need enough Virus Resistance and combat strength to clear them.

Do Not Capture Strongholds Randomly

A low-value route can use the daily capture limit without moving the alliance toward a useful City.

Before declaring, alliance leaders should evaluate:

  • The level and unlock date of nearby Cities.
  • Required Virus Resistance.
  • Enemy alliance routes.
  • Available rally leaders.
  • Cross-server expansion plans.
  • The Stronghold ownership limit.
  • Whether an existing objective should be abandoned.

Members should not begin unauthorized objective rallies merely because a Stronghold is attackable.

City Capture Rules

Last War Survival Season 1 City capture battle Last War Survival Season 1 City capture interface

Cities provide Alliance Influence, buffs, first-capture rewards, participant rewards, and strategic control.

City Rule Current Documented Detail
Daily declaration limit Up to 2 Cities per day across applicable warzones
Concurrent declarations One active City war at a time
Declaration duration 1 hour
Connectivity requirement Alliance territory must connect through an adjacent Military Stronghold
Own-warzone City limit Up to 4 Cities
Other-warzone City limit Up to 4 Cities total outside the home warzone
Maximum possible total Up to 8 Cities
Protection Captured Cities enter an extended protection period based on declaration-day timing

The Stronghold and City daily limits are separate. An alliance can potentially capture two Strongholds and declare on two Cities during the same eligible day, provided all other requirements are met.

Review the current Alliance City interface before declaring. Seasonal rules can be adjusted, and declaration days may become more restricted during later cross-server stages.

Alliance Influence Explained

Last War Survival Season 1 Alliance Influence leaderboard Last War Survival Season 1 Alliance City Influence

Alliance Influence is generated while the alliance controls seasonal territory. Losing a City or Stronghold also removes the Influence connected to that objective.

City Level Documented Influence
Level 1 100,000
Level 2 200,000
Level 3 300,000
Level 4 400,000
Level 5 500,000
Level 6 1,000,000

Higher-level Cities provide more Influence, but the best target is not always the highest level available. Leaders must consider route cost, defense, neighboring alliances, and whether the City can be held until settlement.

Cross-Server Territory Expansion

Cross-warzone expansion begins later in the season. Alliances use outposts and connected Strongholds to establish territory in another server.

Important principles include:

  • Each alliance can place only a limited number of outposts.
  • An outpost helps establish the first Stronghold route in another warzone.
  • The two-Stronghold daily capture limit applies across warzones.
  • City ownership outside the home warzone is limited across all foreign warzones combined.
  • Cross-server Cities can provide substantial Influence.
  • Diplomacy is often as important as combat strength.

Do not place a cross-server outpost without a clear route. Poor placement can limit which Strongholds are reachable and expose the alliance to unnecessary conflict.

Hero’s Return and Season 1 Hero Progression

Last War Survival Season 1 Hero's Return recruitment Last War Survival Season 1 Hero's Return rewards

Hero’s Return provides another recruitment route for selected UR heroes released before Season 1. It is useful for players who missed an earlier hero or still need additional shards.

Hero’s Return tickets can also provide seasonal resources, including Immune Protein or Mutant Crystals, depending on the current reward table.

Before spending tickets:

  • Check the available hero pool.
  • Confirm which heroes support your main formation.
  • Review related Arms Race or Alliance Duel scoring.
  • Avoid using tickets only because they are available.

Use the Hero Shards guide to decide whether a missing hero or another star on an established carry provides more value.

Mason UR Promotion

Last War Survival Season 1 Mason UR promotion

Season 1 introduces a Hero Promotion event that allows eligible players to promote Mason from SSR to UR.

Promotion can provide:

  • UR rarity and stronger progression potential.
  • Updated skills or skill scaling.
  • Improved statistics.
  • A route to strengthen a hero that many players already developed before Season 1.

Before promoting Mason, review the current event requirements and how existing star or Wall of Honor investment is handled. Promotion rules may refund or convert selected resources.

Do not spend Universal Legendary Hero Shards without confirming whether Mason uses his own post-promotion shard route or eligible universal resources.

Season 1 Exclusive Weapons

Exclusive Weapons add hero-specific skills and milestone bonuses. Activation normally requires:

  • The hero at 5 stars.
  • 50 named Exclusive Weapon Shards for that hero.

Universal Exclusive Weapon Shards can normally be used after activation, but they cannot replace the named shards required for the initial unlock.

Season 1 Week Hero Exclusive Weapon Release
Week 1 Kimberly Rocket Shadow
Week 3 DVA DVA Exclusive Weapon
Week 6 Tesla Tesla Exclusive Weapon

Kimberly Exclusive Weapon

Kimberly’s weapon becomes available in Week 1. It supports a developed Tank formation and is often the first introduction to the Exclusive Weapon system.

Prioritize it when Kimberly is already a 5-star main carry with strong skills and gear. Unlocking a weapon on an underdeveloped hero may provide less value than completing the core build first.

DVA Exclusive Weapon

DVA’s weapon becomes available in Week 3. It adds effects connected to Aircraft composition, Energy Damage, Attack Speed, and opening pressure.

This release contributes to the increasing importance of Aircraft formations during and after Season 1.

Tesla Exclusive Weapon

Tesla’s weapon becomes available in Week 6. It is relevant to developed Missile formations and arrives late enough that players should reserve named or universal weapon resources in advance.

Do Not Upgrade Every Exclusive Weapon Equally

Weapon milestones can require a large number of shards. Prioritize:

  1. Your main formation’s primary damage dealer.
  2. Important level 10 or level 20 functional milestones.
  3. Team-wide bonuses that benefit all five heroes.
  4. Level 30 only when the earlier milestones and full squad are already developed.

Exclusive Weapons do not replace normal Hero Shards, Skill Medals, or gear progression.

Pumpkin Cauldron Season 1 Bonus

The Pumpkin Cauldron is a legendary base skin with general Hero Attack and Defense attributes and a special Season 1 effect connected to infection.

Its seasonal benefit can help manage Virus limits or related Crimson Plague mechanics when the skin is equipped. The exact effect should be checked in the current skin interface.

Read the Pumpkin Cauldron guide before evaluating the skin only by its permanent combat attributes.

Season Quests, Goals, and Milestones

Last War Survival Season 1 quests

Season Quests provide recurring objectives connected to seasonal buildings, infected enemies, Virus Resistance, Genetic Recombination, and map progress.

The Season interface also contains:

  • Individual Virus Resistance goals.
  • Alliance Stronghold and City milestones.
  • Weekly missions.
  • Pass tracks.
  • Influence rankings.
  • Seasonal event access.

Check the Season interface every day. Missing a quest or goal may delay Mutant Crystal income and seasonal building progression.

The Last War Event Hub guide can help you coordinate seasonal actions with other active events.

When recruitment, hero upgrades, construction, or troop training also score in Alliance Duel, delay claimable actions until the matching day when practical.

Season 1 Passes

Season 1 can include the main Season Battle Pass, a renewable Weekly Pass, and hero-specific Exclusive Weapon passes.

Pass Main Benefits
Season Battle Pass Mutant Crystals, Profession EXP, Skill Points, Hero’s Return tickets, shards, speedups, and seasonal items
Weekly Pass Temporary fifth Protein Farm, temporary Virus Resistance, March Speed, daily Mutant Crystals, stamina, and speedups
Exclusive Weapon Pass Named hero weapon shards and related hero rewards

Last War Survival Season 1 Battle Pass rewards Last War Survival Season 1 premium Battle Pass Last War Survival Season 1 Weekly Pass

Last War Survival Season 1 DVA Exclusive Weapon Pass Last War Survival Season 1 Kimberly Exclusive Weapon Pass Last War Survival Season 1 Tesla Exclusive Weapon Pass

Is the Weekly Pass Worth It?

The Weekly Pass can accelerate resistance progression through:

  • A temporary fifth Protein Farm.
  • A temporary Virus Resistance bonus.
  • Mutant Crystals.
  • Stamina.
  • Speedups.
  • March Speed.
  • VIP Points.

It provides more value early in the season because the additional Protein production has more days to support later upgrades.

However, the fifth farm and temporary resistance expire with the pass. Do not plan a permanent strategy around bonuses that disappear.

Should You Buy Exclusive Weapon Passes?

A hero-specific pass is easier to justify when:

  • The hero is already 5 stars.
  • The hero is permanently used in the main formation.
  • You can unlock the weapon or reach an important milestone.
  • The rest of the formation is already functional.

It is less valuable when the hero is low-star, unused, poorly equipped, or likely to be replaced.

Season 1 Rewards

Last War Survival Season 1 Gold Alliance rewards Last War Survival Season 1 Purple Alliance rewards Last War Survival Season 1 Blue Alliance rewards Last War Survival Season 1 Green Alliance rewards Last War Survival Season 1 Warzone rewards

Season rewards are based on several performance layers:

Reward Category Main Requirement
Individual Rewards Personal missions, Virus Resistance, participation, and seasonal activity
Alliance Rewards Alliance Influence, City control, and seasonal ranking
Warzone Rewards Total warzone performance and Influence ranking
Participation Rewards Joining eligible Stronghold, City, or seasonal objective battles
Merit or Distribution Rewards Season ranking and leadership distribution rules

Capturing an objective once does not guarantee its Influence at settlement. Alliances must hold valuable territory and defend it during the appropriate stage.

Best Season 1 Priorities for Beginners

Priority 1: Join an Active Alliance

Season 1 is highly alliance-dependent. Even free-to-play players can earn strong rewards by joining rallies, treating allies, following territory instructions, and remaining available during City wars.

Priority 2: Increase Virus Resistance

Upgrade the Virus Research Institute before fighting targets far above your current resistance. The resulting damage penalty and infection can waste stamina and troops.

Priority 3: Improve Protein Production

Upgrade Protein Farms early enough for the increased production to compound throughout the season.

Priority 4: Complete Daily Seasonal Activities

Finish Season Quests, Radar Tasks, first-kill rewards, goals, and Genetic Recombination while the resources can still support progression.

Priority 5: Develop One Main Formation

Concentrate Hero Shards, Skill Medals, gear, military buildings, and Exclusive Weapon materials on the team used for infected targets and alliance wars.

Priority 6: Follow Capture Instructions

Do not waste stamina, teleports, healing resources, or daily declarations on unauthorized targets.

Recommended Seasonal Resource Priority

Priority Investment Reason
1 Virus Research Institute Unlocks safer access to infected enemies and territory objectives
2 Protein Farms Improves recurring Immune Protein production
3 Season Quests and Genetic Recombination Generates more Mutant Crystals and progression rewards
4 Main vehicle-type Military Base Improves the combat statistics of the primary formation
5 Core hero Exclusive Weapon Adds powerful hero-specific and team milestone effects
6 Secondary Military Bases and weapons Useful after the primary formation is established

The order changes when an alliance needs a specific resistance threshold immediately or when a player serves as a major rally leader. Treat this as a general framework rather than a fixed rule.

Alliance Strategy for Season 1

What Alliance Leaders Should Plan

  • Level 1 Stronghold starting route.
  • City unlock targets.
  • Stronghold ownership limits.
  • Cross-server outpost placement.
  • Rally leader assignments.
  • Required Virus Resistance for each objective.
  • City declaration times.
  • Hive relocation and defense.
  • Infection treatment coordination.
  • Reward chest distribution.
  • Diplomacy with allied and hostile warzones.
  • Territory abandonment when replacing low-value objectives.

What Regular Members Should Do

  • Read alliance announcements before attacking objectives.
  • Join required rallies.
  • Maintain enough troops for war.
  • Treat infected teammates.
  • Share missing Gene Fragments.
  • Save stamina and teleports for planned operations.
  • Move into the assigned hive location.
  • Report enemy movement.
  • Avoid starting personal conflicts that disrupt diplomacy.
  • Keep shields available during vulnerable periods.

Free-to-Play Season 1 Strategy

Free-to-play players cannot match every paid temporary bonus, but they can remain useful and earn strong seasonal rewards through activity and planning.

  • Choose Engineer early when development remains the main bottleneck.
  • Complete every available Season Quest.
  • Collect first-time infected enemy rewards.
  • Perform Genetic Recombination regularly.
  • Upgrade all available free Protein Farms.
  • Focus Virus Research Institute upgrades on upcoming alliance requirements.
  • Develop one vehicle-type Military Base.
  • Treat allies to obtain Gene Fragment types IV, V, and VI.
  • Save stamina for objectives that provide seasonal resources.
  • Avoid attacks far above your resistance.
  • Participate in City and Stronghold rewards even when you are not a rally leader.
  • Save Universal Exclusive Weapon Shards for a hero permanently used in the main squad.

Common Season 1 Mistakes

  • Ignoring Virus Resistance: Normal squad Power cannot remove seasonal penalties by itself.
  • Spending all Immune Protein on Military Bases: Falling behind on Virus Research can block future objectives.
  • Neglecting Protein Farms: Low recurring production slows the entire season.
  • Joining dangerous auto-rallies: Targets with unconditional infection can raise your stack even when resistance is high.
  • Capturing random Strongholds: The daily limit should support a planned City route.
  • Ignoring Stronghold ownership limits: An alliance may be unable to capture another objective until it gains or abandons territory.
  • Assuming Taunt, Power, or troop tier replaces resistance: Seasonal and normal combat systems work together.
  • Allowing Infection Stacks to remain high: Debuffs become increasingly severe above each threshold.
  • Spreading Exclusive Weapon shards: One meaningful milestone is often stronger than several barely activated weapons.
  • Buying a pass without a goal: Temporary items provide limited value when they do not solve a current bottleneck.
  • Staying in an inactive alliance: Individual activity cannot replace territory planning and City ownership.
  • Ignoring the next season: Do not use every speedup or resource immediately before Season 2 begins.

What Happens After Season 1?

Season 1 ends with settlement and Celebration stages before the warzone progresses toward Season 2 Polar Storm.

Before the transition:

  • Claim all individual and alliance rewards.
  • Use or confirm the expiration rules for seasonal resources.
  • Review remaining Exclusive Weapon materials.
  • Save generic speedups for the next seasonal buildings.
  • Confirm whether professions, skills, or items carry forward.
  • Prepare for temperature, furnace, and Titanium Alloy mechanics.

Read the Last War Season 2 Polar Storm guide before spending every remaining general resource during the Celebration phase.

Season 1 and Account Progression

A competitive Season 1 account combines Virus Resistance, upgraded Protein Farms, a developed profession, strong troops, a complete main squad, advanced gear, and access to an organized alliance. Exclusive Weapons and high-level seasonal Military Bases add more value, but they cannot fully compensate for weak core progression or neglected resistance.

Building all of this from a new account requires weeks of seasonal activity, resource management, hero investment, and alliance participation. Players who prefer to start with more established progress can browse a Last War account for sale through Heaven Guardian.

Depending on the listing, an account may already include developed Tank, Aircraft, or Missile formations, higher troop tiers, upgraded gear, strong VIP progress, Exclusive Weapons, valuable hero lineups, and access to later-season content. This can reduce the time needed to reach competitive seasonal activities, especially for players joining an older warzone.

Before choosing an account, compare the warzone age, current season, Headquarters level, troop tier, hero stars, gear quality, Exclusive Weapon levels, VIP status, alliance situation, and remaining progression resources. Heaven Guardian purchases include lifetime warranty coverage and premium support to provide additional protection throughout the buying process.

A: It is a seasonal statistic that reduces penalties when fighting infected enemies and participating in seasonal territory objectives.

Q: How do I increase Virus Resistance?

A: Upgrade the Virus Research Institute with Immune Protein. Temporary passes, skills, or event effects may provide additional resistance.

Q: Can I still get infected with enough resistance?

A: Yes. Corruptors, Infected Zombies, selected World Bosses, and other marked targets may apply infection regardless of resistance.

Q: What are the Infection Stack thresholds?

A: Additional debuffs activate at 1, 20, 40, 60, and 80 stacks. The maximum stack is 100.

Q: How do I remove Infection Stacks?

A: Wait for natural recovery or ask alliance members to send treatments. Treatments consume Immune Protein and can reward Gene Fragments.

Q: How do I get Immune Protein?

A: The main source is Protein Farms. It can also come from first-kill rewards, goals, recruitment, passes, and seasonal events.

Q: How do I get Mutant Crystals?

A: Complete Season Quests, first-kill rewards, Doom Walker objectives, Genetic Recombination, Hero’s Return, passes, and other seasonal activities.

Q: What are Gene Fragments used for?

A: Six fragment types form Genetic Recombination sets that provide Mutant Crystals and other rewards.

Q: How many Protein Farms can I have?

A: Up to four regular farms can be unlocked through progression, while a temporary fifth farm is associated with the active Weekly Pass.

Q: Which profession should I choose?

A: Engineer is often better for developing or free-to-play accounts. War Leader is more suitable for combat-focused players and rally leaders.

Q: How many Strongholds can an alliance capture per day?

A: Current rules list a maximum of two Stronghold captures per day, separate from City declarations.

Q: How many Cities can an alliance declare on per day?

A: Current rules allow up to two City declarations per day, with only one active City war at a time.

Q: How many Cities can an alliance own?

A: Up to four in its own warzone and four total across other warzones, for a maximum of eight under the documented rules.

Q: When does the City of Apocalypse open?

A: It becomes available for declaration on Day 28 of the active season.

Q: Which heroes receive Season 1 Exclusive Weapons?

A: Kimberly receives one in Week 1, DVA in Week 3, and Tesla in Week 6.

Q: What is required to activate an Exclusive Weapon?

A: The hero generally needs to be 5 stars, and activation requires 50 named weapon shards for that hero.

Q: Can Universal Exclusive Weapon Shards unlock a weapon?

A: No. They are normally used for upgrades after the weapon has been activated with named shards.

Q: Can free-to-play players succeed in Season 1?

A: Yes. Consistent seasonal quests, resistance progression, alliance participation, treatments, and focused squad development can provide strong results.

Q: Is the Weekly Pass required?

A: No. It accelerates progression with temporary resistance, another Protein Farm, Mutant Crystals, stamina, and speedups, but the season remains playable without it.

Conclusion

Season 1 Crimson Plague changes Last War Survival from normal base progression into a seasonal alliance campaign. Virus Resistance determines which infected enemies and territory objectives you can fight efficiently, while Protein Farms and Mutant Crystals control the speed of that progression.

Prioritize the Virus Research Institute, improve Protein production early, manage Infection Stacks, complete Genetic Recombination, and follow alliance Stronghold and City plans. Develop one primary formation and invest Exclusive Weapon materials only in heroes you expect to keep using.
