Kingshot Range levels and Archer upgrades

The Kingshot Range is the military building used to train Archer troops. It becomes available at Town Center Level 8 and can immediately be upgraded through Range Level 8.

Upgrading the Range unlocks stronger Archer tiers while increasing Training Capacity and Training Speed. Troop promotion becomes available at Range Level 13, T10 Ultimate Archers unlock at Level 30, and late-game progression continues through TG8.

This guide covers every Range upgrade from Level 1 to Level 30, Archer tier unlocks, construction times, troop promotion, Training Capacity Enhance 2h, Truegold costs, and the best Range upgrade strategy.

Upgrade the Range whenever it unlocks a new Archer tier or becomes a Town Center prerequisite. Range Level 13 unlocks troop promotion, Level 30 unlocks T10 Archers, and completed TG8 provides 409 base Training Capacity with a 10.3% building Training Speed bonus.

What Does the Range Do in Kingshot?

The Range has four main functions:

  • Trains Archer troops
  • Unlocks stronger Archer tiers
  • Increases Training Capacity
  • Increases Training Speed

Archers normally fight from the back row and provide much of a formation’s damage. Infantry protects the frontline, while Archers continue attacking from behind it.

This makes Archer strength important for solo attacks, rallies, garrisons, Arena formations, Bear Hunt, and other combat activities.

When Does the Range Unlock?

The Range unlocks at Town Center Level 8.

Once unlocked, you can upgrade it through Range Level 8 while your Town Center remains at Level 8. After that, the Range level normally cannot exceed the Town Center level.

Data note: Some older Range tables list Town Center Level 7 beside the first seven Range levels. The building itself does not become available to the player until Town Center Level 8.

Training Capacity Enhance 2h Explained

The Training Capacity Enhance 2h item temporarily increases the maximum troop queue and the resulting training duration by 200% for two hours.

It does not improve Training Speed.

For example, suppose your current Range allows a queue of 200 Archers that takes four hours. After activating the capacity enhancement, the game allows a much larger batch, but the total timer also increases. Your actual troop production per hour remains approximately the same.

Training Capacity creates a larger queue. Training Speed makes each troop finish faster.

Best Times to Use Training Capacity Enhance

  • Before going offline for several hours
  • Before sleeping, work, or school
  • When you want fewer interruptions between queues
  • Before a troop event when you want a large batch ready to collect
  • After activating a separate Training Speed bonus
  • When all three troop buildings have enough resources for large queues

When Not to Use It

  • When you expect the item to train Archers faster
  • When you are close to unlocking a higher Archer tier
  • When the larger queue would finish before the scoring stage begins
  • When you lack the resources required for the larger batch
  • When you need a short queue for precise event timing

Capacity Enhance vs Training Speed

Upgrade or Bonus What It Changes Improves Troops per Hour?
Training Capacity Enhance 2h Temporarily increases queue capacity and duration No
Range Training Capacity Permanently increases the Range queue size No
Camp Expansion research Permanently increases troop queue capacity No
Training Speed bonus Reduces the time required per troop Yes
Trainer Tools research Permanently increases Training Speed Yes

Ranged Strike

Ranged Strike unlocks with T1 Rookie Archers. It increases damage dealt against Infantry by 10%.

This reinforces the Archer’s main combat role. Archers attack from the back row while dealing increased damage to the enemy Infantry frontline.

Volley

Volley unlocks with T7 Dauntless Archers at Range Level 19.

It gives Archers a 10% chance to attack twice in succession. This adds occasional extra damage without requiring a separate player action.

Training Capacity vs Training Speed

What Is Training Capacity?

Training Capacity controls how many Archers can be added to a single Range queue.

Increasing capacity provides:

  • Larger troop batches
  • Longer uninterrupted queues
  • Fewer logins needed to restart training
  • More troops prepared for event collection

Capacity does not reduce the time needed to produce each Archer. A larger batch naturally creates a longer timer.

What Is Training Speed?

Training Speed reduces the time required to train each Archer.

Increasing Training Speed provides:

  • More Archers completed per hour
  • Faster rebuilding after combat losses
  • Better value from Training Speedups
  • More efficient troop-event scoring

For long-term army growth, Training Speed is more valuable than capacity. Capacity is still useful for maintaining longer queues and reducing the number of times you need to restart training.

How to Increase Archer Training Capacity

Upgrade the Range

Range Training Capacity increases from 17 at Level 1 to 209 at Level 30. Completed TG8 increases the base capacity to 409.

Research Camp Expansion

Camp Expansion technologies in the Academy Growth or Development research tree increase the capacity of your troop-training queues.

The bonus applies to the Barracks, Range, and Stable rather than only one troop type.

Use Training Capacity Enhance

Activate the two-hour item immediately before creating a larger Archer queue.

The item only needs to be active when the queue is started. The queue continues normally after the two-hour enhancement expires.

How to Increase Archer Training Speed

Upgrade the Range

The building Training Speed bonus increases from 0.3% at Level 1 to 8% at Level 30. Completed TG8 raises it to 10.3%.

Research Trainer Tools

Trainer Tools technologies increase the Training Speed of all troop buildings.

Prioritize these technologies before using a large stockpile of Training Speedups because the permanent bonus improves every future queue.

Activate Bonuses Before Starting

Temporary Training Speed bonuses should be active before you confirm the queue. The timer is calculated when training starts.

Possible bonuses include:

  • Kingdom training skills
  • Temporary city bonuses
  • Kingdom titles
  • Master effects
  • Academy research
  • Range building bonuses

Use Training Speedups Before General Speedups

Dedicated Training Speedups only work on troop queues. General Speedups can also be used for construction, research, and healing, making them more flexible.

How Archer Promotion Works

Troop promotion unlocks at Range Level 13 when T5 Indomitable Archers become available.

Promotion converts lower-tier Archers into a higher tier that you have already unlocked. You pay the difference in training time and resources between the current and target tiers.

Benefits of Promoting Archers

  • Removes outdated troops from your army
  • Improves troop strength without increasing total troop count
  • Usually requires less time than training the target tier from zero
  • Can score efficiently during troop-training events
  • Reduces the number of weak troops entering combat

Should You Train or Promote?

Situation Best Option
Your total Archer count is too low Train new Archers
You have many low-tier Archers Promote them
A promotion-scoring event is active Promote saved lower tiers
You suffered permanent combat losses Train new Archers
A new Archer tier unlocks soon Delay a large queue

Kingshot Range Truegold Costs

After the Range reaches Level 30 and the matching Town Center Truegold tier is available, the building can continue through TG1 to TG8.

Each completed Truegold tier contains five individual construction steps. The table below combines all five steps to show the full cost of each tier.

Are Range Truegold Archers the Same as T11?

No. Range Truegold tiers and War Academy T11 Archers are separate progression systems.

Range Truegold Archers

Completing Range TG1 through TG8 unlocks corresponding Truegold levels for your existing Archer troop line.

These upgrades also increase Range Training Capacity, Training Speed, and building Power.

T11 Truegold Archers

T11 Archers require the War Academy and a separate research path. This research uses Truegold Dust, Gold, standard resources, and research time.

Upgrading the Range to TG8 does not automatically unlock T11 Archers.

Range Requirements for Town Center Upgrades

The Range is a recurring Town Center prerequisite. Important requirements include:

  • Town Center Level 10 requires Range Level 9.
  • Town Center Level 14 requires Range Level 13.
  • Town Center Level 18 requires Range Level 17.
  • Town Center Level 22 requires Range Level 21.
  • Town Center Level 26 requires Range Level 25.
  • Town Center Level 30 requires Range Level 29.
  • Town Center TG4 requires Range TG3.
  • Town Center TG7 requires Range TG6.

Do not let the Range fall too far behind, even when Archers are not your main troop type. A low Range can block important Town Center progression.

Use the Kingshot Town Center requirements guide to prepare the next required building in advance.

Best Kingshot Range Upgrade Strategy

Prioritize Archer Tier Levels

The most important normal Range levels are:

  • Level 4 for T2 Archers
  • Level 7 for T3 Archers
  • Level 11 for T4 Archers
  • Level 13 for T5 Archers and troop promotion
  • Level 16 for T6 Archers
  • Level 19 for T7 Archers and Volley
  • Level 22 for T8 Archers
  • Level 26 for T9 Archers
  • Level 30 for T10 Archers

These levels provide the largest immediate military improvement because they unlock a stronger troop tier or a new Infantry-combat skill.

Keep the Range Close to the Town Center

The Range repeatedly becomes a Town Center requirement. Prepare it during the current Town Center construction timer rather than waiting until it blocks the next level.

Prioritize Archers After a Stable Frontline

Archers provide strong damage, but they depend on Infantry surviving long enough to protect the back row.

For most balanced accounts:

  1. Maintain enough Infantry for frontline durability.
  2. Develop Archers as the main damage line.
  3. Keep Cavalry at a useful supporting level.

The exact priority can change according to your Heroes, rally role, current generation, and alliance strategy.

Prepare Resources During Existing Timers

Later Range upgrades require large amounts of Bread and Wood. Gather the next level’s resources while the Town Center or Range is already upgrading.

Keep resource items unopened until the construction is ready so they remain protected in your backpack.

Activate Construction Bonuses First

Before starting a long Range upgrade:

  • Activate available Construction Speed bonuses.
  • Request the appropriate kingdom title when available.
  • Check active pet and Master bonuses.
  • Start the Range upgrade.
  • Receive Alliance Help.
  • Apply Construction Speedups after the help is completed.

Time Upgrades With Events

Range construction can score during events that reward Construction Power, Truegold spending, or construction speedups.

Relevant scoring events can include:

  • Hall of Governors
  • Strongest Governor
  • Kingdom of Power preparation
  • Armament Competition
  • Alliance Mobilization tasks

Check the live event task before spending because scoring categories can change between rotations.

Best Archer Training Routine

  1. Keep the Range queue active whenever possible.
  2. Train the highest useful Archer tier for normal army growth.
  3. Train lower tiers only when deliberately preparing future promotion points.
  4. Save non-urgent promotions for troop-scoring events.
  5. Activate Training Speed bonuses before creating a large queue.
  6. Use Training Capacity Enhance when you need a longer batch.
  7. Use dedicated Training Speedups before General Speedups.
  8. Avoid starting a long low-tier queue immediately before a higher tier unlocks.

Common Range Mistakes

Using Town Center Level 7 as the Unlock Requirement

The Range becomes available at Town Center Level 8. Older charts may list Level 7 beside early Range rows, but the player cannot construct the building until Level 8.

Thinking Capacity Enhance Makes Training Faster

The item increases queue size and duration. It does not improve Training Speed or the number of Archers produced per hour.

Starting a Large Queue Before a Tier Unlock

A long queue of weaker Archers may continue running after a stronger tier becomes available. Check upcoming Town Center and Range completion times first.

Training Too Many Low-Tier Archers

Low-tier troops can be useful for future promotions, but they are weaker in combat and may occupy valuable Infirmary capacity.

Promoting Every Archer Immediately

Troop promotion can score during Hall of Governors, Strongest Governor, Kingdom of Power preparation, and other events. Save non-urgent promotions for an eligible stage.

Reading Per-Step Truegold Costs as Full-Tier Costs

Each Truegold tier contains five construction steps. Range TG1 costs 59 Truegold per step, or 295 Truegold for the full tier.

Confusing Range Truegold Tiers With T11

Range Truegold tiers improve the normal Archer line. T11 Archers require separate War Academy research.

Ignoring Infantry Development

Archers cannot deal sustained damage when the frontline collapses immediately. Develop Infantry Health and defensive strength alongside Archer damage.

Players entering a mature kingdom may face large gaps in Archer tiers, Range Truegold progression, T11 research, Heroes, Hero Gear, and troop count. Conclusion

The Kingshot Range controls Archer training, troop-tier unlocks, Training Capacity, and part of your permanent Training Speed.

The building unlocks at Town Center Level 8. Prioritize levels that unlock new Archers, especially Levels 13, 19, 22, 26, and 30. Level 13 unlocks troop promotion, while Level 19 adds the Volley skill.

Training Capacity and Training Speed should be planned separately. Capacity creates a larger queue, while Training Speed improves the number of troops completed per hour. The two-hour capacity item increases both queue size and duration, so it should not be treated as a speed bonus.

After Level 30, calculate all five construction steps before starting a Truegold tier. Range progression currently reaches TG8, providing 409 base Training Capacity and a 10.3% building Training Speed bonus.
