The Whiteout Survival Storehouse protects part of your Meat, Wood, Coal, and Iron when another Chief attacks your city. It unlocks at Furnace level 9 and can be upgraded through 30 standard levels.
This guide explains how secured resources work, what the city protection limit means, how much each Storehouse level protects, and every upgrade requirement from level 1 to 30.
The Storehouse does not limit how many resources you can own. It determines how many non-secured resources remain protected from plunder. At level 30, it protects approximately 120 million Meat, 120 million Wood, 24 million Coal, and 6 million Iron.
What Is the Storehouse in Whiteout Survival?
The Storehouse is a resource-protection building. Its main purpose is to reduce how many resources another player can steal after successfully attacking your city.
The Storehouse protects four standard resources:
- Meat
- Wood
- Coal
- Iron
Each resource has its own protection limit. Reaching the limit for one resource does not use the protection capacity assigned to another resource.
For example, having more Meat than your Meat protection limit does not reduce the amount of Iron protected by the Storehouse.
How Secured Resources Work
Understanding the difference between secured resources and Storehouse-protected resources is essential. They are related, but they are not exactly the same.
Secured Resources
Secured resources cannot normally be plundered during an attack. These commonly include resources produced by your city buildings and certain offline income.
The amount shown as secured can change as you collect and spend resources. It is not determined directly by your Storehouse or Furnace level.
Non-Secured Resources
Non-secured resources commonly come from:
- World-map gathering
- Plundering another player’s city
- Opening resource items from your backpack
- Certain event and activity rewards after they are added to the city resource counter
These resources can still be protected by the Storehouse, but only up to the protection limit for that resource.
Resources Above the Protection Limit
Resources above both the secured amount and Storehouse protection limit can be plundered by an attacker.
Important: The Storehouse does not physically hold or remove resources from your main resource counter. Its capacity is a protection threshold. You can continue owning resources after reaching that threshold, but the excess may be vulnerable.
What Does “Your Resource Quantity Has Reached the City’s Protection Limit” Mean?
This message means that the amount of a particular resource in your city has reached the amount currently protected by your Storehouse and other secured-resource mechanics.
It does not mean that your city cannot hold additional resources.
You can still:
- Gather more resources
- Open resource items
- Collect city production
- Receive event rewards
- Plunder resources from another city
However, additional non-secured resources may become exposed to plunder. The warning is especially important before State of Power, Brothers in Arms, alliance battles, or any period when your shield may expire.
Whiteout Survival Storehouse Capacity Explained
The Storehouse capacity displayed in most building tables represents the protection amount for Meat and Wood individually.
The standard protection ratio is approximately:
- Meat: Full displayed capacity
- Wood: Full displayed capacity
- Coal: Displayed capacity divided by 5
- Iron: Displayed capacity divided by 20
Storehouse Protection Example
A level 15 Storehouse has a displayed capacity of 3.2 million. It protects approximately:
- 3.2 million Meat
- 3.2 million Wood
- 640,000 Coal
- 160,000 Iron
If you have 3.5 million non-secured Wood, approximately 3.2 million is protected by the Storehouse. The remaining 300,000 may be exposed unless part of it is classified as secured.
Whiteout Survival Storehouse Upgrade Requirements
The following table lists the Storehouse upgrade costs, base construction times, and protection limits from level 1 to 30.
Construction times shown are base values. Research, Chief Orders, pets, state bonuses, alliance help, and other construction-speed effects can reduce the time displayed in your city.

Storehouse Level 24 to 25 Requirements
Upgrading the Whiteout Survival Storehouse from level 24 to level 25 requires:
- Furnace level 25
- 17 million Wood
- 17 million Meat
- 3.5 million Coal
- 890,000 Iron
- 2 days, 18 hours, and 3 minutes of base construction time
The upgrade increases Meat and Wood protection from 25 million to 35 million. Coal protection increases from approximately 5 million to 7 million, while Iron protection rises from approximately 1.25 million to 1.75 million.
Why Do Some Players Not Upgrade the Storehouse?
The Storehouse is useful, but it is not always the highest-priority building for rapid Furnace progression.
Some players delay Storehouse upgrades because:
- It does not train troops or directly improve combat statistics.
- It is often not the building blocking the next Furnace level.
- Unopened resource items can remain safely inside the backpack.
- Secured city-production resources are already protected.
- Players under a shield face little immediate plunder risk.
- Construction queues may be needed for the Embassy, military camps, Research Center, or Furnace prerequisites.
This does not mean you should permanently leave the Storehouse at a low level. It means the ideal Storehouse level depends on how many exposed resources you normally keep in the city.
Upgrade the Storehouse When:
- Your visible resources regularly exceed the protection limit.
- You gather large amounts from the world map.
- You participate in State of Power or city-attack events.
- You cannot remain shielded consistently.
- You are saving visible resources for a large upgrade.
- Your Iron is frequently above its much lower protection limit.
You Can Delay It When:
- Most of your resources remain unopened in the backpack.
- You spend gathered resources immediately.
- You remain under a shield during dangerous periods.
- Your construction queues are needed for essential Furnace prerequisites.
- Your visible stockpile remains below the current protection limits.
How to Protect Resources Without Upgrading Immediately
Keep Resource Items in Your Backpack
Do not open resource items before you need them. Items that remain unopened are not part of the resource total available for plunder.
Open only the amount required for your next building, research, healing, or troop-training action.
Spend Excess Resources Before Logging Off
Use exposed resources on:
- Building upgrades
- Research projects
- Troop training
- Troop promotion
- Healing queues
Resources already committed to an active queue cannot be taken from your main resource balance.
Use a Shield During Dangerous Events
A Peace Shield prevents other Chiefs from attacking your city while it remains active. Check the remaining shield time before leaving the game during State of Power or other attack-enabled events.
Watch Iron More Carefully
Iron has the lowest Storehouse protection ratio. A Storehouse that protects 20 million Meat may protect only approximately 1 million Iron.
Do not assume all four resources have the same protection capacity.
Avoid Becoming an Easy Farming Target
Repeatedly holding millions of exposed resources can encourage other players to attack your city again. Spend the excess, open fewer backpack items, move near your alliance, or activate a shield.
Players evaluating an established city can compare its Storehouse level, secured resources, Furnace progression, inventory, and shield supply before selecting a wos account for sale.
How Storehouse Speedups Work
The Storehouse periodically allows you to collect free speedups while you are online. A timer controls when the next collection becomes available.

These collections are a secondary benefit of the building. The Storehouse’s primary function remains resource protection.
To avoid missing collections:
- Check the Storehouse during daily city management.
- Collect the available speedup before the online timer resets.
- Combine the habit with collecting city production and starting new queues.
Personal Storehouse vs. Alliance Storehouse Capacity
Your city Storehouse and the Alliance Storehouse are separate systems.
- Personal Storehouse: Protects resources in your own city from plunder.
- Alliance Storehouse capacity: Is improved through Alliance Technology such as Storehouse Expansion.
Alliance Storehouse Expansion does not replace your personal Storehouse level. Increasing alliance capacity does not automatically raise the Meat, Wood, Coal, or Iron protection limit inside your city.
Common Storehouse Mistakes
Assuming All Resources Have Equal Protection
Meat and Wood receive the full displayed capacity. Coal and Iron have lower effective limits.
Opening Every Resource Item Immediately
Opening items adds resources to your city balance. Any non-secured amount above the Storehouse limit may become exposed.
Maxing the Storehouse Before Essential Buildings
Protection is useful, but delaying your Furnace, Embassy, troop camps, or Research Center can slow overall progression. Upgrade the Storehouse according to actual risk rather than automatically matching every Furnace level.
Ignoring the Iron Limit
Iron protection is only a fraction of the displayed capacity. High-level players can exceed the Iron limit even when Meat and Wood remain protected.
Logging Off With an Expired Shield
A high-level Storehouse limits losses but does not make every resource untouchable. Check your shield and visible stockpile before logging off during dangerous events.
FAQ
What Furnace level unlocks the Storehouse?
The Storehouse unlocks when your Furnace reaches level 9.
What does the Storehouse protect?
It protects a fixed amount of Meat, Wood, Coal, and Iron from being plundered during attacks.
What happens when the Storehouse is full?
The Storehouse does not become physically full. You can continue collecting resources, but non-secured resources above the protection limit may be stolen.
What resources are needed to upgrade the Storehouse from level 24 to 25?
You need 17 million Wood, 17 million Meat, 3.5 million Coal, and 890,000 Iron. Furnace level 25 is also required.
Why do some players not upgrade the Storehouse?
Some players keep resources in unopened items, spend gathered resources quickly, or prioritize buildings needed for Furnace and troop progression. The Storehouse becomes more important when visible resources regularly exceed its limits.
Are resources in the backpack protected?
Unopened resource items remain outside your visible city resource total and cannot normally be plundered. Once opened, the added resources may become vulnerable above the Storehouse limit.
Does Alliance Storehouse technology protect my city resources?
No. Alliance Storehouse capacity is a separate alliance system. Personal city protection depends on your own Storehouse and secured-resource totals.
Does the Storehouse have Fire Crystal levels?
The standard Storehouse currently has 30 building levels. It does not follow the normal FC1 to FC10 progression used by buildings such as the Furnace and troop camps.
Conclusion
The Whiteout Survival Storehouse protects part of your visible Meat, Wood, Coal, and Iron from enemy plunder. It does not prevent you from collecting additional resources, but anything above the secured and Storehouse-protected limits may be exposed.
Upgrade the Storehouse when your visible stockpile regularly exceeds its capacity, especially before PvP events or extended periods without a shield. Keep unopened resources in your backpack, spend excess resources before logging off, and pay particular attention to Iron because its protection limit is much lower than Meat and Wood.
