Unlocking T11 troops in Last War: Survival works very differently from the path to T10. Instead of completing another Special Forces technology, T11 progression moves into the Armament Institute, where you must finish four Armament Research pieces and pay a substantial final resource cost.
The complete unlock is a long-term late-game project. From the beginning of Base Armament Research through the final T11 gate, the current resource requirement is approximately 6.658 million Armament Materials, 3,300 Armament Cores, and 6 million Oil.
How to Unlock T11 Troops in Last War
The T11 progression path begins much later than the T10 unlock. If you are still working toward Unit X, finish that progression first through the Last War Special Forces Research Guide.
Once your server and account reach the appropriate stage, the T11 path can be summarized as follows:
- Reach the Season 4 off-season.
- Meet the Headquarters requirement for the Armament Institute.
- Build the Armament Institute.
- Complete Helmet Armament Research to 100%.
- Complete Body Armor to 100%.
- Complete Accessories to 100%.
- Complete Weapon to 100%.
- Pay the final T11 unlock cost.
- Have the required Barracks progression available to produce T11 troops.
The important distinction is that completing ordinary Tech Center research does not directly unlock T11. The progression happens through the dedicated Armament Institute.
T11 Unlock Requirements
| Requirement | Needed? | Why It Matters |
|---|---|---|
| Season 4 Off-Season | Yes | This progression stage introduces access to the T11 system. |
| Headquarters Level 27+ | Yes | Required for access to the Armament Institute. |
| Armament Institute | Yes | Contains the research required for the T11 unlock. |
| Four Base Armaments at 100% | Yes | Helmet, Body Armor, Accessories, and Weapon must all be completed. |
| Final Unlock Payment | Yes | Requires additional Materials, Cores, and Oil after the research pieces are completed. |
| Level 35 Barracks | For producing T11 | The unlock alone does not replace the Barracks requirement. |
Although the Armament Institute itself becomes accessible from HQ 27, that should not be confused with being immediately ready to field T11. Late-game building progression is still required. The Last War Headquarters Upgrade Guide covers the wider HQ progression, while the Barracks Guide owns troop production and training requirements.
Last War Armament Research Order
The current English research data uses a fixed progression order:
Helmet → Body Armor → Accessories → Weapon
You do not simply choose the cheapest Armament and complete the four pieces in any order. Progress moves through the Armament sequence until all four Base pieces reach 100%.
Helmet
Helmet is the first Base Armament and the cheapest of the four main research pieces. Completing it requires approximately 694,000 Armament Materials, 255 Armament Cores, and 1.2 million Oil.
Body Armor
Body Armor raises the investment considerably. Completing the Base piece requires approximately 1.09 million Armament Materials, 455 Armament Cores, and another 1.2 million Oil.
Accessories
Accessories is another significant jump, requiring approximately 1.784 million Materials, 710 Cores, and 1.2 million Oil.
Weapon
Weapon is the largest Base Armament cost. Completing it requires approximately 2.97 million Armament Materials, 1,680 Armament Cores, and 1.2 million Oil.
This is why the final stretch can feel much slower than the opening Helmet research. The Weapon piece alone consumes almost half of the Cores required for the entire Base-to-T11 project.
How Much Does T11 Cost?
The following table covers the Base Armament progression required for the initial T11 unlock. Star-level research after T11 is unlocked is a separate long-term investment and is not included here.
| Stage | Armament Materials | Armament Cores | Oil |
|---|---|---|---|
| Helmet 0–100% | 694,000 | 255 | 1,200,000 |
| Body Armor 0–100% | 1,090,000 | 455 | 1,200,000 |
| Accessories 0–100% | 1,784,000 | 710 | 1,200,000 |
| Weapon 0–100% | 2,970,000 | 1,680 | 1,200,000 |
| Final T11 Unlock | 120,000 | 200 | 1,200,000 |
| Total | 6,658,000 | 3,300 | 6,000,000 |
The most important number to plan around is not only the 120,000 Materials and 200 Cores displayed at the final unlock. That is merely the last payment. Starting from zero Base Armament progress requires millions of Materials and thousands of Cores before you ever reach that button.
Does T11 Require Valor Badges?
No. Valor Badges belong to advanced Tech Center technologies such as Special Forces and other Valor Badge research branches. T11 uses its own Armament progression currencies instead.
This distinction is important when planning resources. Your Valor Badges can continue being allocated to the technologies that use them instead of being reserved for the T11 Armament unlock.
Likewise, reaching Unit X through Special Forces research is the T10 milestone. T11 is a later, separate progression system rather than another expensive Special Forces node.
Where Do Armament Materials and Cores Come From?
The primary progression activity associated with Armament resources is Restricted Area Training. Its passive rewards and boss progression provide Armament Materials and can also provide Armament Cores.
Additional quantities may appear through weekly stores, seasonal shops, events, or paid packs depending on your server stage and current offers. Because availability can change, this guide focuses on how many resources the unlock consumes rather than maintaining a constantly changing list of every acquisition source.
Of the two dedicated resources, Armament Cores are usually the more important long-term bottleneck. Materials are required in much larger raw quantities, but the Core requirement becomes increasingly heavy as you progress toward Weapon.
How Long Does It Take to Unlock T11?
There is no universal T11 timer. The actual timeline is determined less by one research countdown and more by how quickly the account obtains enough Armament Materials and, especially, Armament Cores.
| Player Type | Rough Community Estimate | Main Limitation |
|---|---|---|
| Free-to-Play | Around 4–5 months | Restricted Area progress, weekly resources, and Core income |
| Light Spender | Around 2–3 months | Core availability and efficient shop/pack selection |
| Heavy Spender | Around 1–2 months | Availability of Armament packs and overall progression |
These are planning ranges rather than guaranteed completion times. Two players who enter the Season 4 off-season together can finish several weeks apart because Restricted Area progression, shop purchases, stored Oil, event participation, and spending differ.
What Usually Slows the Unlock?
Armament Cores: the full unlock requires 3,300, with 1,680 consumed by Weapon alone.
Restricted Area progression: stronger progression improves your access to Armament resources over time.
Oil preparation: Oil is needed when finishing each Armament piece and again at the final unlock, creating a 6 million Oil total.
Late-game building progression: finishing Armament Research does not remove the other infrastructure needed to use the newly unlocked tier.
Best Way to Prepare for T11
Finish T10 Progression First
T11 should not distract an account that has not completed the earlier troop progression. Unit X and T10 remain the earlier milestone, so finish the required Special Forces path before treating Armament Research as the next major project.
Start Saving Armament Cores Immediately
Cores become increasingly expensive as the research advances. Avoid judging your progress only from the amount of Materials in storage. An account can hold enough Materials for several steps while still waiting on the next Core requirement.
Keep an Oil Reserve
The complete Base unlock uses 6 million Oil. Do not spend every available unit of Oil simply because the next Armament percentage upgrade does not currently request it.
Higher Headquarters progression also competes for Oil. Review the HQ upgrade requirements before committing a large reserve to another development project.
Plan for the Entire Weapon Stage
Weapon is far more expensive than Helmet. Reaching the final Armament can make the project look nearly complete, but a large percentage of the total Core requirement is still ahead of you.
For that reason, estimate your remaining cost from the current research piece rather than simply looking at how many of the four Armaments you have opened.
Is Unlocking T11 Worth It?
For accounts already operating in the relevant late-game progression, T11 should usually be treated as a major military objective. It is a permanent troop-tier unlock rather than a temporary seasonal bonus, so the resources invested continue to matter after the season that introduces the system has ended.
However, the investment is large enough that preparation matters. Starting the push without sufficient Core income, Oil reserves, or supporting building progression can leave the account stalled midway through the Armament sequence.
This guide intentionally does not compare T10 and T11 Attack, HP, Defense, Morale, March Size, or other troop attributes. Those numbers belong in the Last War Troop Stats Guide.
What Happens After the T11 Unlock?
Completing Base Armament Research is not the end of the Armament Institute. Additional star progression becomes available afterward and can continue improving the T11 system.
Those star levels are not required for the initial T11 unlock. Therefore, players specifically trying to reach T11 should calculate the Base Helmet-to-Weapon cost separately from later star investments.
This distinction prevents a common planning mistake: seeing the enormous total cost of advanced Armament progression and assuming all of it must be completed before T11 becomes available.
Common T11 Unlock Mistakes
Saving Valor Badges for T11
T11 does not use Valor Badges for its Armament unlock. Keep Valor Badge planning separate from Armament Material and Core planning.
Budgeting Only for the Final Unlock
The final 120,000 Materials, 200 Cores, and 1.2 million Oil are only the last gate. The complete project from zero is much more expensive.
Ignoring the Weapon Cost
Weapon is the most expensive Base Armament, particularly in Armament Cores. Reaching Weapon does not mean the resource grind is almost over.
Spending All Your Oil Elsewhere
Oil is consumed at the completion points of the four Armament pieces and at the final unlock. Maintain enough reserve to avoid reaching 99% and then waiting on Oil.
Assuming HQ 27 Means You Are T11 Ready
HQ 27 relates to access to the Armament Institute. Actually producing the unlocked tier requires much later infrastructure, including the required Barracks progression.
Including Star Research in the Initial Unlock Cost
The first T11 unlock requires Base Armament completion. Later Armament stars are additional progression rather than prerequisites for obtaining Base T11.
