The High-Heat Furnace is one of the most important buildings in Last War: Survival Season 2: Polar Storm. It consumes Coal while running to heat your base, while upgrading the Furnace with Titanium Alloy increases its normal heat, Overdrive Heat, Virus Resistance, and seasonal Power.
The strategic target is High-Heat Furnace level 30. Level 20 is an important reward breakpoint, while level 30 provides 10,000 Virus Resistance, 20°C Activation Heat, 30°C Overdrive Heat, unlocks the three Season 2 Military Bases, and awards the Legendary Hero Badge through the Furnace level goal for Violet‘s UR promotion.
★Quick Take
Push the High-Heat Furnace throughout the opening weeks rather than waiting until cold or Virus Resistance completely blocks you. Build your Titanium Alloy Factory economy at the same time, save Coal for Furnace operation and Factory upgrades, and work toward level 30 as the main personal Season 2 building milestone.
What Does the High-Heat Furnace Do?
The High-Heat Furnace has two connected jobs in Season 2:- Heat your base: turn the Furnace on to increase local base temperature while consuming Coal.
- Increase Virus Resistance: each Furnace level raises the resistance used against Season 2 enemies such as Doom Elites and the Polar Beasts guarding Dig Sites.
Activation Heat vs Overdrive Heat
Activation Heat is the heat contribution provided by your personal Furnace while it operates normally. Overdrive Heat is the higher heat contribution available when Overdrive mode is enabled. Overdrive provides more heat but consumes Coal faster, so it should not remain active unnecessarily. The Furnace control panel also includes options for automatically activating the Furnace during Blizzard conditions.| Mode | Purpose | Best Use |
|---|---|---|
| Furnace Off | Consumes no Furnace fuel but adds no personal Furnace heat | Warm conditions when additional heat is unnecessary |
| Normal | Provides the Furnace’s Activation Heat | Routine temperature management |
| Overdrive | Provides the higher Overdrive Heat while consuming more Coal | Blizzards, colder territory, or emergency warming |
!Important
Activation Heat and Overdrive Heat are not your final base temperature. Map location, Blizzards, captured City heat, the Alliance Furnace, profession skills, and other seasonal effects can all change the temperature shown on your base.
Why Temperature Matters in Season 2
Season 2’s map becomes colder as alliances move deeper into the polar region. Your Furnace helps offset this environmental temperature loss. If a base remains below -20°C, a five-minute freezing countdown begins. If it stays below the threshold, the base becomes frozen and important actions such as rallies and normal relocation are restricted until the temperature recovers. You can increase heat through several systems:- Your personal High-Heat Furnace.
- High-Heat Furnace Overdrive.
- The Alliance Furnace when your base is inside its heating range.
- Captured City territory with active City heat.
- Season 2 profession skills and other seasonal heat effects.
- Help from allies when the corresponding Season 2 mechanics are available.

The Most Important Furnace Level Breakpoints
Level 20: Faction Reward Eligibility
Current Season 2 guides document a High-Heat Furnace level 20 requirement for receiving Faction Rewards. This makes level 20 more than a convenient resistance target: active players should treat it as a minimum seasonal milestone rather than stopping permanently in the teens.Level 30: The Main Season 2 Target
Level 30 is the true Furnace endpoint. It provides:- 10,000 Virus Resistance.
- 20°C Activation Heat.
- 30°C Overdrive Heat.
- 108,100 seasonal building Power.
- Access to the three vehicle-type Military Bases.
- The level-30 High-Heat Furnace Season Goal that awards the Legendary Hero Badge used for Violet’s UR promotion.
✓Recommendation
Do not treat Furnace level 30 as an end-of-season luxury. Build your Titanium Alloy economy early and work toward level 30 during the first half of Season 2 so you have time to benefit from the Military Bases, higher Virus Resistance, and stronger heat for later territory.
Titanium Alloy vs Coal: Know the Difference
Season 2 introduces two resources that interact with the Furnace but have different jobs.| Resource | Main Use | How It Relates to the Furnace |
|---|---|---|
| Titanium Alloy | Seasonal building upgrades | Spent to level the High-Heat Furnace and later Military Bases |
| Coal | Seasonal fuel and construction resource | Consumed while the Furnace operates and used to build or upgrade Titanium Alloy Factories |
How to Get More Titanium Alloy
The main recurring source is the Titanium Alloy Factory. Four permanent Factories can be unlocked by progressing the preceding Factory to level 15, while the Season Weekly Pass can provide an additional temporary Factory. Each Factory level increases Titanium Alloy production, so the early economy priority is to unlock the permanent Factory chain instead of pushing the first Factory far beyond the next unlock requirement. Other documented Titanium Alloy sources include:- Titanium Alloy Factory production.
- First-time zombie level kills.
- Doom Elite and seasonal first-kill rewards.
- The first Doom Walker kill of the day during applicable Season 2 progression.
- Season Quests and High-Heat Furnace Goals.
- Hero Return recruitment rewards.
- City and Dig Site first-capture rewards.
- Selected seasonal events and passes.
Best Titanium Alloy Factory Strategy for Furnace Progression
The permanent Factory unlock chain is based on level 15:- Raise Titanium Alloy Factory I to level 15.
- Build Factory II and raise it to level 15.
- Build Factory III and raise it to level 15.
- Build Factory IV.
- After the permanent Factory set is unlocked, continue improving production according to your available Coal.
When Should You Use Furnace Overdrive?
Overdrive is useful when normal Activation Heat is not enough, but the additional Coal consumption makes permanent Overdrive inefficient for most players. Good Overdrive situations include:- A Blizzard is pushing your base toward the freezing threshold.
- You are moving into colder central territory.
- Your base has already entered the “Freezing Soon” countdown.
- Your Alliance Furnace is unavailable or you are outside its effective range.
- You need additional temperature margin during an important seasonal operation.
High-Heat Furnace and Virus Resistance
Virus Resistance is the second reason Furnace levels matter. In Season 2 it affects your ability to fight seasonal enemies, especially Doom Elites and Polar Beasts protecting Dig Sites. Do not assume normal squad Power can fully compensate for insufficient Virus Resistance. Check the enemy’s resistance requirement before committing stamina or judging whether a failed attack is caused by heroes, troops, gear, or the Furnace. A practical approach is to stay ahead of your alliance’s next Dig Site and territory targets rather than waiting until the objective opens and discovering that your resistance is too low.Personal Furnace vs Alliance Furnace
The High-Heat Furnace belongs to your individual base. The Alliance Furnace is a separate structure positioned and managed by alliance leadership.| System | Who Controls It? | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| High-Heat Furnace | Individual player | Provides personal heat and Virus Resistance |
| Alliance Furnace | Alliance leadership and members | Provides additional heat to bases inside its range |
High-Heat Furnace Strategy for F2P Players
F2P players can reach meaningful Furnace progression by prioritizing the production loop rather than trying to solve shortages with paid packs.- Build Titanium Alloy Factory I immediately when Season 2 opens.
- Use Coal to unlock the permanent Factory chain through the level-15 prerequisites.
- Spend Titanium Alloy primarily on the High-Heat Furnace until level 30.
- Complete first kills, Season Quests, Furnace Goals, and first captures consistently.
- Keep Coal in reserve instead of leaving Overdrive active when it is unnecessary.
- Use Alliance Furnace heat and City territory intelligently.
- Take advantage of applicable construction-resource reductions before expensive Furnace levels.
- Reach at least level 20 for the important reward breakpoint, then continue toward level 30.
Common High-Heat Furnace Mistakes
Waiting Until Your Base Freezes
Furnace progression should be proactive. If you wait until cold territory or a Blizzard already blocks your operations, you may be forced into expensive Overdrive use or rushed Titanium Alloy farming.Confusing Coal With Titanium Alloy
Titanium Alloy upgrades the personal Furnace. Coal fuels the Furnace and upgrades Titanium Alloy Factories. Managing them as separate resources makes the entire Season 2 economy easier to plan.Leaving Overdrive Running Constantly
The higher heat is valuable only when you need it. Unnecessary Overdrive burns through Coal that could support later Blizzards, Factory development, or other seasonal systems.Stopping at Level 20
Level 20 is an important reward milestone, not the optimal final target. Level 30 unlocks Military Bases and the Furnace level-30 reward needed for Violet’s UR promotion.Delaying Titanium Alloy Factories
Every hour that an additional Factory remains locked is lost recurring Alloy production. Build the production economy early instead of trying to compensate with a late Furnace rush.Ignoring Alliance Positioning
A strong personal Furnace does not make map temperature irrelevant. Use Alliance Furnace coverage and warmer City territory to reduce Coal pressure and create a safer base location.Relying Only on Squad Power
Season 2 resistance mechanics can make a powerful squad perform poorly against seasonal enemies. Check Virus Resistance before spending resources trying to fix the wrong combat problem.High-Heat Furnace and Season 2 Progression
The Furnace is the center of a larger Season 2 loop:- Collect Coal.
- Use Coal to develop Titanium Alloy Factories.
- Produce Titanium Alloy continuously.
- Spend Titanium Alloy on the High-Heat Furnace.
- Gain heat and Virus Resistance.
- Use that progression to fight stronger Polar Beasts and expand through colder territory.
- Reach level 30 and develop the Season 2 Military Bases.
